Dining Room Dish Line (Part-time)

20 hours per week (Part-time)

Under the direction of the Dining Room Director and/or supervision of the Weekend Supervisor, the Dish Line Worker is responsible for various duties on the Kitchen Dish Line and also responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas, while ensuring the safety and dignity for all who come to Loaves & Fishes.

Typical tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Working assigned area on Dish Line
  • Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen, equipment and dining areas
  • Assisting with set up and breakdown of serving lines
  • Mopping, sweeping, floor mat removal, cleaning and replacing on floor
  • Accepting and stocking meal items upon delivery
  • Assist with meal prep when needed
  • Maintain a positive presence at all times
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Must have a knowledge and commitment to the mission and philosophy of Loaves & Fishes
  • Must have the ability to be a self starter and work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to follow instructions and organization policies
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays
  • Must arrive on time for all assigned shifts
  • Must be able to have hands exposed to water for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift heavy items weighing at least 20 lbs but not to exceed 50 lbs
  • Accepting and stocking meal items in walk-in or cabinets for next day meal prep
  • Ability to maintain personal and professional boundaries
  • Must be detail oriented; possess good written and oral communication skills
