Program Director - Sister Nora’s Place

40 hours per week, includes Medical & Dental benefits

Sister Nora's Place provides long-term shelter and case management for women with a history of homelessness, trauma and serious mental and physical illness. These women are often times society’s most vulnerable and forgotten people.

Sister Nora’s Place offers residents the opportunity to live more productive lives off of the streets, non-coercive and constant supportive services, a safe and peaceful environment, private living space in cubicles designed especially for residents, and activities to stabilize their lives including mental and physical health evaluations, medical appointment assistance, medication monitoring, support groups, and financial management. The program facilitates connections to more stable housing upon their exit.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Program Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all guests and residential needs, activities, and fundraising, scheduling, staffing, training and daily operations while managing shifts around the clock. The Program Director reports to the Executive Director and supervises a small staff while performing the following functions:

  • Schedule, coordinate, facilitate resident activities
  • Support and advocate for the needs of up to 16 female residents living with mental illness
  • Facilitate guest transitions in and out of Sr. Nora’s Place
  • Conduct interviews for residential applications
  • Provide/oversee resident case management
  • Facilitate monthly staff meetings
  • Maintain necessary documentation for all staff/HR issues
  • Manage staff time and record keeping for Payroll
  • Formulate/administer program budget
  • Collaborate with other Loaves & Fishes programs and other community homeless service providers
  • Collaborate with groups to perform projects or with Development Director to conduct fundraising activities for Sr. Nora’s Place
  • Participate in meetings/committees as requested by Executive Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have knowledge and commitment to the mission and philosophy of Loaves & Fishes
  • Be flexible, compassionate, professional, and respectful to all
  • Must have desire and commitment to working with women experiencing homelessness
  • Must have good organization, communication, and computer skills
  • Must be able to lead and work as part of a team
  • Must be available to work different shifts, including overnight shifts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have supervisory experience
  • Degree in Social Work (or related field) is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with mental illness/homeless population in lieu of education may be considered

Compensation dependent upon experience.
