Are you passionate about ending homelessness? Are you committed to serving some of the most vulnerable men, women, and children? Are you looking to join an in-the-trenches communications and development team? Are you looking for a way to use your communications and administrative skills to have a real tangible impact? Are you ready to be a voice for the voiceless? If this is you, then we want you. We’re looking for a passionate VISTA volunteer to assist in raising community awareness of the presence of homelessness in our community, the human suffering caused by homelessness, and the actions that individuals, community organizations, and the community as a whole can take to end homelessness in Sacramento.

You will be an essential part of developing and implementing short and long-term strategies. You will utilize and help develop communications channels including direct mail, email, social media, and video. This is a chance to be present with and work along side people experiencing homelessness and turn that experience into impactful communications messaging.
You will work to grow and strengthen our community of volunteers to and regularly engage with community-based committees (such as the Sacramento Hunger Coalition, or committees of the Sacramento Homeless Continuum of Care or Sacramento Housing Alliance). The goal is to develop active and effective communications channels and networks to enhance Loaves & Fishes ability to reduce the harmful effects of homelessness on individuals experiencing homelessness in Sacramento.
